One controversial aspect of health privacy laws, at least when they are implemented, is whether hospitals or supporting foundations can use patient information without consent for fund-raising purposes. It appears that Saskatchewan is about to amend the health privacy regulations for that province to permit solicitation after a sixty-day waiting period.
